Sammy Cheng is one of the most famous singer in HongKong, she became a singer in a age of 15. She has this type of rich sultriness in an alto voice packed with emotion and power.
Sammi is the type of lady where she's an open,tough go-gotter who puts career before love She joined a singing contest held by TVB in 1988 when she was 15. Although her family did not strongly agree her to join the competition, they did not oppose her to take an opportunity to learn more; as Sammi's mother did not expect that Sammi would win in the contest.
Out of her mother's expectation, Sammi won! Capital Artist offered her a singer contract and Sammi changed her occupation to "double status" of a student and a singer at the same time.
In the first several years, Sammi did not have many chances to show her talent as she still needed to concentrate on her academic work. After she has finished her secondary education, she became a 100% singer.
